The Catamount property -- including the Lodge & Forest -- provides opportunities for families and groups to stay overnight, rest and relax, hold meetings and events, enjoy the outdoors, and take advantage of the many assets of the region.

Location

The North Country property is located in the uplands of St. Lawrence County, New York, on State Highway 56 inside the Adirondack Park.  Its two tracts hug the Carry Falls Reservoir, with the entrance being about 8 miles south of the hamlet of South Colton.  State Highway 56 is well maintained all seasons of the year.

Outdoor Recreation

Outdoor activities at Catamount include hiking, snowshoeing, and cross-country skiing on marked Forest trails.  Nearby you can kayak and canoe the Carry Falls Reservoir, snowmobile on maintained trails and ski in the Adirondack Park, and fish rivers of the region from the Raquette and its reservoirs to the St. Lawrence.  Catamount trails lead to the top of Catamount Mountain and the Carry Falls Reservoir.

Lodge Accommodations

Catamount Lodge is geared toward family and group accommodations--
rooms are not rented to individuals.  The Lodge has beds to sleep 10 people--with more possible on the couch and cots--and three full bathrooms, two of which are shared.  Guests of the Lodge have use of a fully equipped kitchen to prepare their own meals and dining facilities that easily accommodate 20 people.
